Tips and Best Practices

Get the most out of Anfitrión with these tips based on the experience of professional managers.

Keep data up to date

Anfitrión's value lies in the accuracy of its data. Spend 5 minutes a week uploading the receipts and invoices you've received. If you leave it until the end of the quarter, the task will be much heavier and error-prone.

Be realistic with the budget

It's better to budget slightly high on utilities (Electricity and Water). Seeing a positive deviation (savings) is much more motivating than seeing constant red numbers from being too optimistic in your forecasts.

Use tags and colors

Customize your categories with colors you recognize quickly visually. For example, put taxes in red, cleaning in green, and utilities in blue. It'll help you interpret profitability charts at a glance.

Digitize everything

Even if you already have the paper invoice, scan it with the app. Having a centralized digital repository saves hours of searching when your accountant asks for documentation for the quarterly filing or when you need to claim a repair warranty.

Review your Strategy quarterly

Don't wait until year-end to see if the business is working. Every three months, review your Strategy section and adjust your rates or campaigns if you see projected occupancy isn't being met as expected.

Avoid common mistakes

  • Differentiated VAT: Make sure VAT/IGIC is correctly configured in your profile. An electrician's invoice (21%) is not the same as the VAT on income (10%). The app helps you, but always check the total.
  • Booking date vs accrual: Record bookings on the date the stay occurs, not when you receive the money, so monthly profitability reflects the actual use of the property.
